If you need help with a behaviour problem (e.g. leash reactivity, excessive barking, resource guarding)

During behavioural consultations, we investigate the underlying reasons why your dog displays the unwanted behaviour(s) such as excessive barking, dog reactivity, shyness, fearfulness, you name it.

All packages include a thorough assessment of the problem behaviour(s), a customised training and management plan and one-on-one lesson(s).

If your dog has been assessed by a behaviour veterinarian and you have a behaviour modification plan in place, I am happy to work alongside your vet to implement the plan. In that case, please refer to “one-on-one training” package options.

What TO EXPECT?

  • in-home assessment and consultation (~1.5 hrs) with immediate management and training advice
  • detailed and personalised written management and training plan
  • choose assessment only, or from 3 different packages – initial assessment and 1, 2 or 3 follow-up lessons (1 hr each)
  • professional advice from a qualified dog behavioural trainer using best practice force-free training methods
  • long-term behaviour modification instead of misleading quick fixes
  • absolutely no outdated and aversive training methods such as choke chains or shock collars (which are not only inhumane and illegal in other states, but often exacerbate the underlying problem)

If your dog has bitten before

All dogs can bite if they have no other choice or earlier warning signals have been missed/ignored. We can address minor bites (air snaps, nips, one-off bites) and help prevent future incidents.

However, if your dog has caused significant injury to another dog or a human before, please contact a Registered Specialist in Veterinary Behavioural Medicine or a Behaviour Veterinarian with credentials MANZCVS (Veterinary Behaviour). They are veterinarians with further qualifications in animal behaviour and are able to properly address underlying mental health conditions.
